CAPRICORN AND ITS DECANATES
|
Not all natives of the same sun
sign can be characterized as a unit by the general characteristics of that
sign. There are some divisions and subdivisions, each with its
characteristics who give much more particular personality traits to the
native of a sign. The most important division is the decanate. Among the 30
degrees of each sun sign, each decanate of the three has 10 degrees. |
Decanate 1 -

- Degrees 1-10 of Capricorn, corresponding to the period December
22nd - 31st.
- Rulers: Saturn as ruler of Capricorn and Jupiter as
specific ruler of the decanate.
Constellation: Cygnus
(Swan) Key word: organizing
- Characterization: Very charitable, the native knows the Christian meaning of
mercy. But when he is determined to achieve any goal, he "walks on dead bodies"
and has no mercy. He is persevering, ambitious, self-seeking, proud, and determined. He
likes to get involved into complicated activities since he, eventually, fulfils
his goals. He is very patient and tenacious in order to evolve.
- Tree zodiac:
Beech-tree, for a day (at winter solstice), characterized
by the following key words: smartly dressed, tidy, inventive, honest, conventional,
skilled organizer,
materialistic; common sense; money, finances.
Apple-tree, characterized by key
words: love, tenderness; sentimental, erotic, extremely generous,
study-oriented, complicated, party-man, and resigned.
- Karmic: Probably in a former life he used to be "resented" because he
had neglected people's feelings and had lacked in personal ambition. Now, he lives with the
subconscious impression that he must regain his social rank.
Decanate 2 -

- Degrees 11-20 of Capricorn, corresponding to the period January
1st - 10th.
- Rulers: Saturn as ruler of Capricorn and Mars as
specific ruler of the decanate.
-
Constellation: Delphinus (Dolphin) Key word:
martyrdom
- Characterization: He has a practical and positive nature
and needs to be in
permanent contact with definite aspects of life. He does not accept halfway
measures, abstract or philosophic theory. If we add "dynamite" to the
characteristics of the previous decanate, we will obtain the characteristics of
this one. Even though he needs to be active permanently, he is not lucky in
his approach. On the
contrary, he does everything wrong but that sets his ambition. Sometimes, he may
even be in an
"explosive" mood.
- Tree zodiac: Pine-tree, characterized by key words,
such as: mystical,
fashionable, noble, difficult, capricious, selfish, too serious, ambitious, very
intelligent, and biting. The native chooses to complain a lot.
- Karmic: He was very fortunate during one of his previous
lives but he did not
appreciate that, nor he used the gifts he had received as he should have. Now, he must work
a lot in order to fulfill his wishes and desires.
Decanate 3 -

- Degrees 21-30 of Capricorn, corresponding to the period January
11th - 19th.
- Rulers: Saturn as ruler of Capricorn and the Sun as specific
ruler of the decanate.
Constellation: Pisces Australis (Austral Fish)
Key word: idealistic
- Characterization: They are the kindest and more sensual natives of
the sign. They are neither too fortunate, nor unlucky. They are the cause for
their own bad luck, because they abandon their projects too easily and use their
energy for less important things. In their minds, there is a permanent struggle
between fulfilling their duty or revealing their sensual side.
- Tree zodiac: Elm-tree, characterized by key words,
such as: calm, patient,
moralist, open-hearted; confidence, duty. He rules but also obeys, he loves his
country and people, and he fulfils his goals.
- Karmic: The natives must learn being responsible. But in order to learn
that thoroughly, they must cope with many difficult moments and situations or
avoid falling into temptation. As soon as
they got over that, they are able to evolve. Their motto is: "What does not kill
me,
it makes me strong".
