LEO AND ITS DECANATES
 

Not all natives of the same sun sign can be characterized as a unit by the general characteristics of that sign. There are some divisions and subdivisions, each with its characteristics who give much more particular personality traits to the native of a sign. The most important division is the decanate. Among the 30 degrees of each sun sign, each decanate of the three has 10 degrees.

Decanate 1 -

• Degrees 1-10 of Leo, corresponding to the period July 23rd - August 2nd.
• Rulers: the Sun as the ruler of Leo and Saturn as specific ruler of the decanate.

• Tree zodiac: Cypress - the key words: fidelity; rustic character, adaptable, severe but kind, lazy, dreamful, unostentatious, and thoughtful. 
• Karmic: He experiences the skills of getting easily over any difficult moments. In order to do so, he must learn an extremely important lesson: confiding in his own forces in order to fulfil an ideal. 

Decanate 2 -

• Degrees 11-20 of Leo, corresponding to the period August 3rd -12th.
• Rulers: the Sun as ruler of Leo and Jupiter as specific ruler of the decanate. 
• Constellation: Centaurus
  Key words: reform
• Characterization: He shines and imposes respect by his simple presence. As he is natural, unselfish, rational and nice, he controls himself wonderfully. Even though in his youth he was revolutionary and anarchistic, he transforms as time goes by and becomes an opportunist at mature age. 
• Tree zodiac: Poplar-tree, characterized by the key words: extremist, sensitive, courageous, bohemian, organized, independent, critical, and family-oriented. 
• Karmic: He must learn being calm and having steady feelings, be tempered for that enables his personality have a certain "shining". 

Decanate 3 -

• Degrees 21-30 of Leo, corresponding to the period August 13th - 22nd.
• Rulers: the Sun as ruler of Leo and Mars as specific ruler of the decanate. 
• Constellation: Corvus
  Key words: ambition
• Characterization: As being influenced by the two planets, the individual is full of energy, he has a restless life, he is a fighter but he tends to use his energy foolishly. Very shining and ambitious, he cannot hide himself away from people. He feels the need to emphasize and be noticed for his acts. 
• Tree zodiac: Date-tree, characterized by the following key words: extremely optimistic, independent, dreamy, luxurious, susceptible, decided, talkative, shiny, sensitive, tender, intelligent, artistic skills, adventurous, unselfish, and successful.  
• Karmic: He has not incarnated in vain, he feels the need for being permanently restless in order to achieve more and learn as many lessons as he can.
