SAGITTARIUS AND ITS DECANATES

Not all natives of the same sun sign can be characterized as a unit by the general characteristics of that sign. There are some divisions and subdivisions, each with its characteristics who give much more particular personality traits to the native of a sign. The most important division is the decanate. Among the 30 degrees of each sun sign, each decanate of the three has 10 degrees.

Decanate 1 -

  • Degrees 1-10 of Sagittarius, corresponding to the period November 22nd - December 1st.
  • Rulers: Jupiter as ruler of Sagittarius and Mercury as specific ruler of the decanate.
  • Constellation: Lyra
    Key word: piety
  • Characterization: A person who likes living to the extremes: either religious or perverted. He has the impression that his noble spirit must be considered. When he does not receive the respect he thinks he deserves, he considers inferior those people who do not have the same convictions as him and therefore, becomes quizzical. If people differ in their convictions, the native becomes troublesome and less pretentious because of his ego. Otherwise, he is very lucky and respected.
  • Tree zodiac: Ash-tree, characterized by key words, such as: clear vision, obstacles, exigency, generosity; faithful, constant, intuitive; they know what they want and do only what they want.
  • Karmic: He must learn about becoming wise, tolerant, and moderated. If he does not learn his lesson, he risks to consider himself as being "the centre of the world".

Decanate 2 -

  • Degrees 11-20 of Sagittarius, corresponding to the period December 2nd - 11th.
  • Rulers: Jupiter as ruler of Sagittarius and the Moon as specific ruler of the decanate.
  • Constellation: Aquila
    Key word: exploring
  • Characterization: They like playing and finding amusement with simple and trivial things. Because they lack in discrimination (that is a characteristic), they may be in great danger. They are skilled explorers who search for uncommon events. They are dreamy and idealistic, but also happy when solving any mystery.
  • Tree zodiac: Hornbeam-tree, characterized by key words: cold, sophisticated, despiteful, famous, undecided; they wish to be perfect; sacrifice, diehard; classic, artistic, and traditional moral values.
  • Karmic: He has hesitated too much when facing some obstacles and now he is rather reckless. That prevents him from fulfilling certain goals which he would not approach under normal circumstances.

Decanate 3 -

  • Degrees 21-30 of Sagittarius, corresponding to the period December 12th - 21st.
  • Rulers: Jupiter as ruler of Sagittarius and Saturn as specific ruler of the decanate.
  • Constellation: Sagitta
    Key word: illumination
  • Characterization: He is a real party-man and would not despise a good joke. He does that only if the joke does not prejudice his private life. He is wise and wicked (the result of many repeated incarnations). That is why he does not understand that he imagines life in a certain peculiar way and that is the cause for him failing to fulfill his goals.
  • Tree zodiac: Fig tree, characterized by key words: powerful personality, sensitive; he longs for warmth, he is family-oriented; temptation, good intentions, consciousness; he is rather tender.
  • Karmic: His successful life "regenerates" him because this time, he must accomplish a lot of things left unsolved from past incarnations. When he fails, his weak character makes him escape the reality and start drinking.
